NBA – The Denver Nuggets host the visiting Los Angeles Lakers for their first meeting of the 2021–2022 NBA Regular Season at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
The Nuggets are currently 6th in the Western Standings with 21 wins and 19 losses, while the Los Angeles Lakers is sitting right just behind the Nuggets in 7th place with 21 wins and 21 losses also in the Western Conference Standings.
Prior to their game the Nuggets have won their last assignment in a blown out fashion against the struggling Portland Trail Blazers while the LA Lakers lost their last two games against the Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings respectively after having a 4 – Game winning streak.
Both teams are really struggling in the first half of the season, nobody expected that these two teams are sitting below the West Standings especially the star studded LA Lakers where they are the favorite of leading the West this season.
Although there are some excuses for their current situation, especially the injuries and health protocol of the league, but still they have their chance to adjust and make a change this second half of the season.
In the game against the Lakers the Nuggets will still rely to their reigning MVP Nikola Jokić who has been an MVP Caliber this season, averaging 25.5 points this season but the Nuggets will be missing some key players like Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr, P.J Dozier and players under health protocol.
While the LA Lakers will also rely to their 4 – time Regular Season league MVP LeBron James, who has had a great individual stats, especially in points where he is currently second with 29.1 points per game just behind Brooklyn Nets Kevin Durant with 29.7 points per game.
Although LeBron James is having a spectacular individual stat this season the Lakers must find a way to turn that stat into wins? And better starts now against the Nuggets and not fall down deeper in the West Standings.
