Rajon Rondo returns to the LA Lakers in a one year minimum contract

The 2 – Time NBA Champion and 4 – time NBA All – Star point guard Rajon Rondo is once again an LA Laker after agreeing a one year minimum contract after a successful buyout from the Memphis Grizzlies.

Rajon Rondo was traded to Memphis Grizzlies along with point guard Pat Beverly from LA Clippers to Memphis Grizzlies in exchange of shooting guard Eric Bledsoe on August 16, 2021.

12 days later Rondo agreed to a contract buyout and was waived by the Grizzlies that leads to re-joining the LA Lakers for the second time of his illustrious NBA Career.

Rondo rejoins his former teammates in LA where he just won his second NBA Title in "2020 NBA Bubbles" he played a major role as a play maker for the LA Lakers 17th NBA Titles.

Rondo rejoin’s LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard and Talen Horton – Tucker the remaining Lakers from the year they won the NBA Championships in 2020.

Rando agreed a 1 – year $ 2.6 million deal with the Lakers but still makes a $ 7.5 million this season between the buyout from the Grizz and the new contract from the Lakers.

Meanwhile, Rajon Rondo is not the initial options for the backup point guard positions to Russell Westbrook  starting point guard positions.

According to several reports the 2 – Time NBA All –Star Isaiah Thomas was the first options of the Lakers for the backup point guard not until the Clippers traded Rando and later on waived by the Grizz.

Unfortunately for Isaiah Thomas it looks like Rando will have the deal for the said positions and Thomas must find another team for his services? so good luck to you Isaiah Thomas.

The Lakers had 2 spot remaining to their roster this year.after sealing the deal with Rondo? Another rumor that is linked to the LA Lakers is Center DeAndre Jordan, who is possibly looking for a buyout from the Brooklyn Nets and possibly joins the LA Lakers?

Rajon Rondo officially sign with the Lakers on August 31, 2021.

What do you think of this Lakers addition with Rajon Rondo? do they made the right move instead of signing Isaiah Thomas? lets wait and see...
