Lakers Struggles in the Absence of Anthony Davis

NBA – The defending NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers has lost another close game and this time at the hands of the visiting 13th seed team in the East the Washington Wizards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Lakers blow a 17 point lead in the 3rd quarter and find them selves down by 6 points at the later minutes of the final quarter, fortunately they able to extend the game in OT.

The game went into overtime at 115 all after Bradley Beal missed a game winning shot at the end of the regulation.

Prior to that shot by Bradley Beal, LeBron James had his chance of winning the game for the Lakers if he only manages to sink the bonus free throw after a made basket and a foul from Russell Westbrook with 09.8 seconds remaining but unfortunately it did not happen.

In the Overtime Lakers had their chance to extend the game into second overtime, but both LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma missed a desperate 3’s that lead to their 3rd straight loss 124 – 127.

The Lakers dropped 4 games in their last 5 outings with a 3 game losing skids. The Lakers are now 1 – 4 in the absence of Anthony Davis in their last 5 games due to injury while point guard Dennis Schroder is out for the 2nd straight game due to health protocol.

Despite the loss, Lakers remain second in the Western Standing with 22 wins and 10 losses tied with the LA Clippers.

Meanwhile, LeBron James, missed a near triple double in a losing effort James drop 31 pts, 13 assists and 9 rebounds and also with 8 turnovers.

LeBron James and the Lakers recent struggle will surely hurt James chances of staying at the top of the MVP Race? Joel Embiid is already making a statement of his case in this year MVP Race as well with Nikola Jokic?

But still compare to the Philadelphia 76ers and the Denver Nugget the Lakers have still the better standings as of now.

The Lakers are scheduled to visit the league best record Utah Jazz in their next game. A must win for the Lakers to silence their critics and give moral boost for the team if somehow they beat the best team in the league?
