Lakers celebrate ring ceremony on NBA opening night against the Clippers

NBA – The reigning and defending NBA Champion the Los Angeles Lakers presented their 17th NBA Championship via ring ceremony during the opening night game against their city rival the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staple Center in Los Angeles, California.

However, for the first time in history of the league the Lakers won’t drop their 17th banner until their fans are back and witness the banner ceremony at their home court at the Staple Center.


NBA commissioner Adam Silver, also mention that the celebration will be repeated until the Lakers fans are back in attendance in the Lakers home court at the start of the ring presentations.

Unlike before, the ring presentation is very different from what is used to be, players are represented by their closed friend or part of their family via virtual video before they personally get their ring at the center of the court.

It’s not exciting as it used to be where there is fans, but due to health securities that still surrounding the world the presentation is better than nothing.

Owner and President of the Los Angeles basketball operations Jeanie Buss give thanks to all former Lakers, who has been part of the Lakers 2020 NBA Championship she give thanks to the names of Javele McGee, Dwight Howard, Danny Green, Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley, JR Smith, Dion Waiters and even DeMarcus Cousins who has never suited and played as a Laker due to injury.


The Lakers also made a history for having the most NBA Championship recorded in NBA History with 17th NBA Championship tied with their rival Boston Celtics. Two of the toughest and successful team in the league history.

After the ring ceremony, The Lakers will host the Clippers in their very first game of the 2020 – 2021 NBA Regular Season doubleheader, both teams are expected to have a good game where as predicted these are the two favorite teams of reaching the Western Conference Finals this season and perhaps a repeat for the Lakers or redemption for the Clippers.
