Spurs Stun LeBron and the Lakers in OT

NBA – The San Antonio Spurs come with a win in Overtime against LeBron James and the Lakers in 143 – 142 win in OT at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California. 

Both teams are coming from a loss, but the visiting San Antonio Spurs came more prepared in the game dominating the 1st quarter by posting double digit lead 40 – 26, Spurs up by 14 points. 


Lakers rallied back in the 2nd quarter behind Kyle Kuzma hot game and their 2nd unit to be able to get back in the game by cutting the Spurs lead in just 5 points at the half 65 – 60.

In the 3rd quarter, the Spurs are just hanging on their lead not until the Lakers 2nd unit and Kuzma force their way to even the game at 96 – 96 all with under a minute to go. Spurs eventually end the quarter, up by just 3 points 99 – 96.

In the 4th quarter, LeBron James starts to take over in the game, leading his team to stay close in the game not allowing the Spurs to pull away in the game. With just under 2 minutes to go the Spurs are looking good after posting an 8 point lead 128 – 120 but the Lakers made their own 8 – 0 run to tie the game after LeBron James heroic 3 point shot that send the game in OT.

In Overtime the Lakers are looking good and more likely have a big chance of winning their first win of the season not until LeBron James missed two crucial free throws that could extend their lead into 3 points but missed both that leads into Spurs taking a lead in Patty Mills made a jump shot.

Lakers had their chance to win the game, but LeBron James missed a left corner, jump shot that could win the game. Lakers are now in 3 – game losing streak tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder the only two remaining teams in the West that are still winless in this early season.

LaMarcus Aldridge leads all scorers with 37 points while DeMar DeRozan added 32 points while the Lakers lead by Kyle Kuzma with 37 points and late explosive game from LeBron with 32 points.
