LTO chief Markus Lacanilao, initial announcement of the implementation of the nationwide ban which was supposed to start today, December 1, 2025 (PH TIME) , will now be resumed on January 2, 2026 of next year, meaning that all electric tricycles and electric bikes can still be used on the National Road till January 1.

Many electric tricycles and electric bike users condemn LTO's implementation, which can greatly affect their jobs, services, and other purposes that E-trikes and e-bikes are used for, especially on national roads.
The LTO's implementation is to ban them on national roads, which will be implemented starting January 2, 2026. All traffic enforcement with legal documentation of implementing the rules will be the ones to impound users of the said unit if proven guilty of the violation.
Electric tricycles and electric bikes are still legal to used in subdivisions, secondary roads and Barangay roads before and after the implementation, so users can still used their unit but limited to national road.
Different opinions are shared by netizens about the LTO's new rules and regulation. Some of them are in favor of the rules, especially car owners, while others condemn it. Instead of banning them on the national road, why not allowed them to register their unit and have a driver's license and give equal rights on the national road like car owners?
Which side are you? are you with the LTO? or the E-trikes and e-bikes users?
