Cav's Beat the Lakers in LeBron's return @ 40

NBA - The West #6 seed Los Angeles Lakers host the visiting #1 seed in the East and the NBA league best record the Cleveland Cavaliers for their second and final meeting of the 2024-2025 NBA Regulars Season at Cryto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Prior to this game the Cleveland Cavaliers had already beaten the Los Angeles Lakers in their first meeting of the regular season 134-110 at Rocket Mortgage Field House in Cleveland, Ohio.



Evan Mobley led the Cavs in scoring with 25 points, 5 rebounds while Donovan Mitchell added 24 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds, Jarrett Allen has added a monster double double of 20 points, 17 rebounds and one assist.

For the Lakers, the All-Star duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the Lakers in scoring with 26 points and 22 points respectively in a losing effort.

The Lakers are looking to bounce back against the Cavaliers especially in LeBron's return after missing their last game. LeBron will be also playing his first official NBA Games at the age of 40.

In the game, the early quarter was easily controlled by the visiting team leading by a double digit lead halfway the quarter but Lakers able to cut the Cavs lead into just 4 points at the end of the 1st quarter 34-30.

In the 2nd quarter, Lakers tied the game at 39-39 with 7:08 to go in the quarter, Lakers regain the lead at 41-39 with 6:44 after a made dunk by LeBron James. Cavs able to regain the lead and outscored the Lakers 24-23 to further their lead 58-53 Cavs up by 5 points at the half.

In the 3rd quarter, The Cavaliers are once again posted another double digit lead at 12 points 77-65 with under 5:23 to go in the quarter, Lakers able to cut the Cavs lead into single point 79-78 but the Cavs win the quarter 29-25 ending the 3rd quarter up by 9 points 87-78.

In the 4th and final quarter, Cavs put another double digit lead with 4:25 to go in the quarter 109-98, Lakers made their final run 112-97 after a made 3's by LeBron with 2:49 to go in the quarter, Cavs able to hang on to their lead and outscored the Lakers 35-32, denying a Lakers comeback in the later minutes of the quarter, Cavs beat the Lakers 122-110 and now 2-0 in their head to head match this season.

Cavs center Jarrett Allen finishes the  game with 27 points, 14 rebounds and 1 assist, Donovan Mitchell finishes with 24 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

For the Lakers, Austin Reeves posted a game high 35 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds a near triple double, while AD added 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and finally LeBron James added 23 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds.
