Memphis Grizzlies less Ja Morant even the series in Game 2 win over the LA Lakers

NBA - The LA Lakers visit the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 2 of their best of seven series in Round 1 of the 2022 - 2023 NBA Playoffs, the Lakers won Game 1, 128 - 112, hoping for another upset for the home team in Game 2 at FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Grizzlies are coming in Game 2 with a mission to win with less Ja Morant in their lineup, a win would even the series and a loss brings the team in a big sink hole to even bounce back in the series against a team with a LeBron James and Anthony Davis in a line up is a big big trouble for any team?


In the 1st quarter, Lakers scored the first 5 points of the game, but since then it has been all Memphis in the early quarter posting an early double digit lead showing they are the better teams even without their superstar Ja Morant. Memphis takes the quarter 30 - 19 up by 11 points.

In the 2nd quarter, the Grizzlies able to hang on to their lead despite a mini comeback by the Lakers cutting the lead into single digit by 7 points halfway through the quarter. After a timeout the Grizzlies made an 8 - 0 run to up their lead again and posting their largest lead at the half up by 16 points.

Grizzlies outscored the Lakers in the 2nd quarter 29 - 25 and up by 15 points after 2 quarters 59 - 44 at the half. Surprisingly Center Xavier Tillman lead the Grizzlies in scoring at the half, while LeBron James leads the Lakers in scoring also.

In the 3rd quarter, Memphis posted their largest lead 66 - 46 a 20 point deficit, Lakers made a mini run again 17 - 3 to cut the Grizzlies lead into 6 points 69 - 63. Eventually, the home team manage to hang on to their lead at the end of the 3rd 83 - 71 up by 12 points.

In the 4th and final quarter, the Lakers are once again able to cut the Grizzlies lead into single digit and the closest they get is down by 6 points and since then they never find a way to get back in the game, Lakers outscored he Grizzlies 22 - 20 with a final score 103 - 93 grizzlies win and now even the series at 1 - 1.
