Klay Thompson led the Warriors 117–115 to overcome the Lakers late comeback

NBA – The Golden State Warriors host the visiting Los Angeles Lakers for their second meeting of the 2021–2022 NBA Regular Season at Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

Prior to the game both teams are on 2-Game losing skids, The Warriors are currently 2nd in the Western Conference Standings with 42 wins and 15 losses, while the Lakers are in 9th place in the West also with 26 wins and 30 losses.



One of these teams is going back in the winning column while the other will drop into their 3rd-Game skid. Which team will it be? Will it be the Warriors at home or the visiting Lakers? Let’s find out.

In the game, The Warriors had a hot start in the early quarter, controlling the entire quarter leading by as much 8 points. The Warriors outscored the Lakers 32–26 at the end of the 1st quarter.

In the 2nd quarter, The Warriors had a 9–0 run to start the quarter, posting their largest lead of the game 41–26. LeBron James able to stop the Lakers drought after scoring a 2 point put back with under 9:10 in the quarter.

Lakers able to come back in the quarter outscoring the Warriors 36–33 to end the half just down by 3 points 62–65 after trailing 15 point deficit.

In the 3rd quarter, the scores are almost evenly matched, the Lakers outscored the Warriors by 2 points 32–30 to cut the Warriors lead into a single point at the end of the 3rd 94–95.

In the 4th and final quarter, The Lakers regain the lead in the very 1st possession of the ball, 96–95. They are able to extend their lead to 6 points and able to hang on to their lead for most of the quarter not until Klay Thompson exploded for the Warriors to keep the Warriors in the game.

Under 2:22 in regulations behinds Klay Thompson explosive back to back 3’s, Andrew Wiggins hits another 3’s to regain the lead for the Warriors 112–111. Lakers scored on the next possession to regain the lead once again 113–112.

The Warriors next possession is Klay Thompson’s Dagger 3’s that put them up by 2 points and the 16 points of Klay in the quarter, the Warrior’s up 115–113 with under a minute to go in regulations.

Anthony Davis had 1 of 2 free throws to keep the Lakers down by a point 114–115, while Stephen Curry made a running scoop lay-up to extend their lead 117–114.

LeBron James and the Lakers had their chance to extend the game in overtime, but LeBron made 1 out of 3 free throws and missed a buzzer beat 3’s to win the game. Finals 117–115 Warriors win.

Klay Thompson has led all scorers with 33 points his best since returning from injury, while LeBron James scored 26 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assist for the Lakers.
