Lakers less LeBron James falls short to the Atlanta Hawks

NBA – The Los Angeles Lakers host the visiting Atlanta Hawks for their final meeting of the 2020 – 2021 NBA Regular Season at Staple Center in Los Angeles, California.

Both teams remain undefeated since the All – Star break. The Los Angeles Lakers are in 4 – game winning streak with 28 wins and 13 losses and currently second in the West Standings right behind the league best record Utah Jazz.


The Atlanta Hawks are the hottest team in the league with 7 – game winning streak with 21 wins and 20 losses and currently fifth in the East Standings.

In the game, the 1st quarter belongs to the visiting Atlanta Hawks 28 – 25, Hawks up by 3 points.

In the 2nd quarter, Hawks up by 5 points 32 – 27 when Lakers LeBron James injured his right Ankle after colliding with Hawks Solomon Hill that caused his ankle to bend inward.

James able to shake the injury for a while, but after a made 3’s with 10: 42 in the quarter, he requested to get out of the game and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Fortunately, the Lakers won the quarter 28 – 24 to end the half up by a point 53 – 52, despite the early exit of their superstar LeBron James.

In the 3rd quarter, The Hawks drop a 9 – 0 run that took advantage the Lakers less LeBron, the Hawks controlled the entire quarter 22 – 12 to finish the quarter up by 9 points 74 – 65.

In the 4th and final quarter, the Hawks lead balloons to 15 points, Lakers able to cut it down into 5 points in the later minutes of the quarter but fall short of a major comeback. Hawks 99 – 94.

Meanwhile, LeBron James, who played for 11 minutes with 10 points, 4 assist and 1 rebound is questionable in their next game against the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers drop 3rd seed in the West behind the Phoenix Sun while the Hawks remain fifth in the East.
