LeBron James Triple Double Lift the Lakers in OT against OKC

The defending NBA Champion the LA Lakers host the visiting team Oklahoma City thunder for their second meeting of the 2020 - 2021 NBA Regular Season at Staple Center in Los Angeles, California.

The Lakers dominated their first meeting away from home with complete lineup, but this time they will be playing without their second superstar Anthony Davis who is nursing an Achilles injury according to reports.


In the first quarter, the visiting team OKC posted an early lead of 7 points 14 – 7 to force the Lakers an early timeout. OKC eventually end the quarter 33 – 26 enjoying a 7 point advantage.

In the second quarter, the Lakers outscored OKC 30 – 27 but still the OKC lead the half time 60 – 56 up by 4 points.

In the third quarter, the OKC outscored the Lakers by 4 points to end the quarter, up by 8 points, 84 – 72.

In the fourth and final quarter, LeBron James and the Lakers made their run to get back in the game outscoring the OKC by 8 points to tie the game 110 – 110 to go into overtime.

At the overtime, the Lakers outscored OKC, 9 – 2 to win the game 119 – 112. 

The Lakers now improve their standing in the West with 19 wins and 6 loss accompanied by a 5 – game winning streak while the OKC drops to 10 wins and 13 losses.

Both teams are scheduled to face one another on to their next game at the Staple Center on February 11, Philippine Time.

Meanwhile, the LA Lakers had a back to back overtime game win with below .500 teams against the Detroit Piston that went into 2 OT and now with the OKC. both games comes with a win and with those games, LeBron James posted his 2nd and 3rd triple double of the season.

LeBron James the leading candidate in this year MVP race finished the game with 28 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assist, while the Thunder lead by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 29 points to lead all scorers.
