Lakers Outplayed by the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of the West Semi Final Round

Philippines – The top seeded team in the Western Conference the LA Lakers will host the # 4th seeded team in the West the Houston Rockets in Orlando, Florida at the Bubble.

The LA Lakers are well rested team after dispatching their 1st Round assignment the Portland Trail blazer in 5 Games. While the Houston Rockets exceeded their series against the tough Oklahoma City Thunder in 7 Games.


The Big and tough LA Lakers will likely rely on their superstar duo the 4-time MVP LeBron James and Anthony Davis while The Rockets will rely also on their own duo and both former league MVP James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

In the 1st quarter, both teams are just testing each other as the quarter ends at 29 – 28 Rockets by a point.

In the 2nd quarter, the Houston Rockets slightly control the game, especially in the later minutes of the quarter outscoring the Lakers 34 – 27 to end the quarter up by 8 points 63 – 55.

As expected James Harden leads the Rocket in scoring with a big 25 points, 2 assist and 1 rebound while his partner Russell Westbrook added 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assist.

While the Lakers led by LeBron James with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assist and his partner Anthony Davis with 10 points and 4 rebounds at the half.

In the 3rd quarter, the Lakers are playing catch up, although they manage to keep the score close, but then again just like the later minutes of 2nd quarter they collapses at the later minutes of the 3rd quarter.

Although the Lakers outscored the Rockets by 2 points to cut the Rockets lead in just 6 points at the end of the 3rd quarter.

At the 4th quarter, the Rockets start strong posting another double digit leads in a 14 – 0 run against the Lakers who could not buy a basket. Rockets biggest lead in the 4th was 19 points where out of nowhere it becomes a blown out game.

Russell Westbrook and Erick Gordon leads the Rockets in the 4th quarter in scoring while game lead scores James Harden has become silent in the 2nd half.

LeBron James did not score in the final quarter who finished the game with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The LA Lakers also lost Game 1 of the 1st round and eventually bounce back and wins the last 4 games.
