PBA – San Miguel Beermen center June Mar Fajardo made history on Fridays 2017 PBA Leo Awards night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum as he becomes the only player in the league to win four consecutive MVP’s in just four straight PBA season.
Fajardo who is just 27 years old and only in his fifth year in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has already won 4 MVP’s which tied him with 2 other PBA hall of fame.
Throughout the PBA History there are only two players in the league that holds the most MVP award winners before the 2017 Leo Awards. PBA legends and Hall of Fame former San Miguel Beermen Ramon “El Presidente” Fernandez the first PBA player to win 4 MVP’s which he won in 1982, 1984, 1986 and 1988 and former Purefoods Hotdogs superstar Alvin “The Captain” Patrimonio the second player to do so in 1991, 1993, 1994 and 1997 with 4 MVP’s also.
Even though June Mar Fajardo is the 3rd PBA player to win 4 MVP’s, it was special compare to two other PBA Legends because Junmar only done it in just five PBA Season in four straight years (2014 – 2017) at a very young age and will have greater opportunity and chance to win his 5th MVP or so in the next couple of years and becomes the only player in the league with the most MVP awards in PBA History?
Will June Mar Fajardo go down in the PBA history books as the PBA most MVP award winner? Maybe if he will stay healthy and continue his dominance in the paint at 6’11” it’s not possible for him to win his 5th MVP next year or even 6th MVP in the next couple of years?
