James and Irving Lift the Cavaliers in Game 4 Win Over Celtics

NBA Playoffs – Cleveland Cavaliers will host the visiting Boston Celtics in Game 4 of their best of seven Eastern Conference Finals at Quickens Loans Arena in Cleveland. The Cavs is currently leading on the series 2 – 1, and will try to extend their lead in Game 4 at home. While the Celtics will try to even the series before returning back in Boston for Game 5.


Early in the game the Boston Celtics continue their momentum from Game 3 win, having a terrific start in the early quarter of Game 4, posting their first double digit lead of the series with less than 3 minutes to go in the 1st quarter while holding the Cavaliers to their lowest points scored in the 1st quarter with 19 points.

In the 2nd quarter the Celtics try to blow the game away from the Cavs, holding double digit leads for most of the quarter taking advantage of LeBron James early foul trouble. Without James for most of the 2nd quarter Kyrie Irving lift the Cavs in a mini rally to cut the Celtics lead into single digit but eventually ends the 1st half down by 10 points as the Celtics takes their first halftime lead of the series 57 – 47.

At the half, Jay Crowder and Avery Bradley lead the Celtics in scoring with 13 points apiece. Kyrie Irving leads the Cavs with 18 points, Kevin Love added 10 points while LeBron James with much better performance from the last game added 10 points, but still struggle in the game after committing his 4th personal foul in the 2nd quarter.

In the 3rd quarter the Cavaliers shows some life after their franchise player LeBron James began to show his original form, they manage to erase the 10 points Celtics lead at the start of the 2nd half, and regain the lead for the 1st quarter with a two made free throws by LeBron James 73 – 72 with 3:15 to go in the 3rd. Kyrie Irving exploded for 21 points in the 3rd to lead Cavs winning the 3rd quarter 40 - 23 and takes a 7 point lead 87 – 80 at the end of the 3rd.

In the 4th quarter, LeBron James shift to attack mode to help the Cavs from posting their first double digit leads of the game. James scored 12 points in the final quarter with a total points of 34 points while Kyrie Irving posted his playoff career high in points with 42 points and lastly the last member of the Cavs big three Kevin Love added 17 points and 17 rebounds.

Cavs win Game 4, 112 – 99 and now takes a commanding 3 – 1 lead in the series. Game 5 is scheduled at TD Garden in Boston.
