CAVS Blow a Big Lead but managed to win Game 2 over Pacers

NBA - Indiana Pacers superstar Paul George start the 1st quarter hot making some series of three point basket to take an early lead for the Pacers but the Cavaliers quickly retaliate after making their own series of tree points and eventually closed the quarter leading by 3 points 32 – 29 Cavs.

In the 2nd quarter Cavs seems starting to pull away in the game lead by LeBron James who control the 2nd quarter end the 1st half with 17 points 5 rebounds and 5 assist, followed by Kevin Love with 13 points and Kyrie Irving with 12 points.

Deron Williams also added 9 points from 3 out of 4 shooting from the three to give some added offense from the Cavs bench. Cavs shots 27 out of 44 on the field at the half.

Cavs also posted a double digit lead in the game particularly in the 2nd quarter but Paul George and his team mates quickly retaliate to end the first half by only being down by 5 points 58 – 63 Cavs. Cavs won the 2nd quarter 31 -29.

At the half, Paul George scores 18 points to lead all scorer, he also added 3 rebounds and 3 assist while Jeff Teague and Thaddeus Young are the only two Pacers who scores double digit with 12 points and 10 points respectively.

At the start of the 3rd quarter, Cavs shooting guard JR Smith did not return due to an injury after suffering a left hamstring in the 1st half, Iman Shumpert replace him on the rotation.

The 3rd quarter was a clear domination for the Cavaliers where Kevin Love exploded in both ends of the floor scoring 10 straight points for the Cavaliers which lead to their biggest lead of the game with 19 points. Cavs outscored the Pacers in the 3rd quarter 33 – 20 Cavs.

The Cavaliers has been having problems in their past game of hanging big leads especially in the 4th quarter just like in Game 1 of this series where they almost lost luckily CJ Miles of Indiana Pacers missed a buzzer beater that lead to a Cavs win.

At the start of the 4th quarter the Cavs is leading by 18 points 96 – 78, but the Pacers shows some life of coming back in the game after scoring 7 – 0 run to cut Cavs lead to 11 points that lead to an early timeout for the Cavaliers. Kyle Korver and LeBron James scores a back to back basket to end the slow start of the Cavs in the last quarter.

And just like before again the Cavaliers collapses in the 4th quarter outscored by the Pacers in the last quarter 33 -21. The Pacers cut Cavs lead into single digit with 4:23 to go in the game, a 10 – 0 by the Pacers that cut the Cavs lead into 5 points with 2:29 to go in the game. The Pacers last stand is Paul George made clutch 3 point basket that cut the lead into 4 points the closest that Pacers comes after being down by 19 points.

The Cavaliers eventually hang on and won with a Final Score 117 – 111, but the scary run of the Pacers shows that the Cavaliers has not yet find any solution on their 4th quarter collapses?

Kyrie Irving lead the Cavs in scoring with 37 points, Kevin love added 27 points while LeBron James posted 25 points 10 rebounds and 7 assist. Paul George leads the Pacers with 32 points 8 rebounds and 7 assist.
