DOH Said: Revelry- Related Injuries Reached 730 Cases And 12 Stray Bullets On This 2015 New Year Celebration

the revelry - related injuries has been reached up to 730 cases  till 6 am of January 3, according to the Department of Health ( DOH ) . In this regard , 12 cases were recorded due to a stray bullet.

Based on  DOH-National Epidemiology Center's Fireworks Injury Registry,four victims that had mention has been ingestion of explosive fireworks.

DOH - NEC , explain that  the " firework - related injuries " are in the category of direct firework injuries , firework ingestion , and stray bullet injuries .


Despite such as mentioned of numbers of  revelry - related injuries , it remains lower by 26 percent compared to the past five years ( 2009-2013) , and 27 percent less than last year 2014 new years.

In 714 direct fire incidents , 573 cases ( 80 % ) were male victims , aged from six months to 84 years .
In 25 percent or 182 cases of revelry - related injuries it include children ages 10 and below.

Also most of the victims , according to the DOH are from Metro Manila area ( 55 percent ) where most victims in Manila reaches up to 152 cases .

DOH record has added of  572 cases ( 80 % ) injured by fireworks which are not cut off hands . In 34 cases , or five percent of the injured had to be cut off , while 125 cases ( 18 % ) had an eye injury .

The record of the DOH will include the list of victims from December 21, 2014 will end on January 5, 2015
